Invisalign corrects malocclusions, such as gaps, crowding and overbite. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners that are switched out every two weeks.

Invisalign treatment in cambridge is a great alternative to braces because it doesn’t require you to visit your dentist or orthodontic specialist as often. This means fewer visits, less inconvenience and less stress.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign clear alignment aligners are removable clear plastic appliances which straighten your teeth, without the use of metal brackets or wires. Invisalign clear aligners are more comfortable because they don’t irritate soft tissues like your lips and your tongue. Clear aligners also look more discrete than braces. They are virtually indistinguishable, so they won’t be noticed by most people unless you make them visible. Finally, clear aligners allow you to eat and drink what you want, unlike with traditional braces.

During your consultation an orthodontist, or dentist, will review your dental health history and perform a thorough oral exam. This may include taking X-rays. If they determine that you are a candidate for Invisalign treatment, the doctor will take digital scans of your teeth using the state-of-the-art iTero scanner, which provides fast and accurate 3D images. The scans will be used to create your customized orthodontic treatment plan. This will show the movement of your teeth during treatment.

Then the doctors will create your custom clear aligners, which are made of Invisalign’s SmartTrack material. During the treatment process, you will wear your aligners daily (except for when you’re eating or drinking!) You will wear your aligners daily until you achieve the desired results (normally within 6-12 months). During treatment, you will visit your dentist to pick up new sets of aligners and to make sure that your teeth are moving correctly.

Invisalign Express

Invisalign Express, a version of Invisalign’s conventional treatment, is designed to address minor issues such as crooked or small teeth that you would like to close. It does not require any wires or tightening, and can be completed in as little as six months. You will use between 5 and 10 sets of aligners during your treatment. Each set is replaced every two weeks by the next in line.

The dentist will determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign Express based on your misalignment or gaps and if they can be corrected by a small amount tooth movement. This treatment is effective for patients who suffer from mild misalignment.

Your Invisalign provider makes a 3D mold of your mouth to create a series of aligners made of BPA-free, clear plastic. These aligners will shift your teeth in the desired position. You will wear your trays about 22 hours per day, removing them only to eat and drink, brush and floss. You’ll visit your orthodontist once a month to monitor your progress. If your dentist feels that you’re not making the required progress, they may give you additional aligners in order to speed up your orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign Teen

If your teen is self-conscious about their crooked teeth or problematic bite, they may be a good candidate for Invisalign. During the initial appointment, an orthodontist takes x-rays of the patient’s teeth and examines their mouth to determine the severity. The orthodontist will then discuss different treatment options, and determine whether Invisalign would be the best choice.

During Invisalign, the clear aligners gradually move the crooked tooth into alignment. Then, when the treatment is completed, a retainer will be placed. Invisalign is a discreet and effective treatment option for teens, and the results are often faster than metal braces. Plus, unlike traditional braces that have sharp wires and brackets, Invisalign’s smooth plastic aligners do not cause mouth abrasions.

Invisalign Teen, a special version designed for teenagers, is a version of Invisalign with additional features. It uses the same SmartTrack technology as general Invisalign, but with added features that are specifically for adolescent patients. These include a Blue Dot Wear Indicator to track compliance, six free replacement aligners in case they are lost or broken, and changes to the design of the aligner trays that are better suited for teenagers’ mouths.

Invisalign teen also eliminates restrictions on food, so your teenager can eat whatever they want throughout treatment. They just need to remember to remove their aligner trays before eating sticky, chewy, or hard foods that can damage the wires and brackets of traditional braces. Having the freedom to remove their aligner trays can also help with maintaining good oral hygiene, as they’ll be able to brush and floss without having to worry about food stuck in their teeth or around the brackets.

Invisalign Clear Braces

Many people want to have a big smile with straight teeth, and a good orthodontist can make that happen. Some people don’t want to give up their food freedom or oral health routines in order to achieve the perfect smile. This is where clear aligners come in, a great alternative to traditional braces.

To get clear aligners, the orthodontist must first create a 3D impression or scan of your mouth. This will help determine which treatment is best for you. The orthodontist will also determine if any preparatory work needs to be done on your teeth. This may include “interproximal reductio,” which sounds complex, but is simply sanding off small pieces of enamel to make more room for your teeth.

Once the plan is set, the orthodontist will send this information off to an off-site company where they will create the trays. Your orthodontist can schedule regular appointments to check your progress. They will also ensure that the trays are worn properly (at minimum 20 to 22 hours per day).

If you’re considering clear aligners for your teeth, it’s best to consult with an experienced orthodontist right away. The more time you wait to start your aligner treatment, the longer it will take to fix your misalignment issues.
